What We Do
- An orphanage
- An on-site school (kindergarten through grade 9) for our orphans and selected children from the community

- 49 children who graduated from Hope Center and now attend vocational or high school as boarding students
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a loving and enriching Christian environment to orphaned and at-risk children in rural Kenya, giving them the foundation to become independent and responsible adults. To accomplish this mission, we strive to create an environment that allows them to grieve and heal from their traumatic losses and reclaim their childhood, while also providing them with a first-rate education. We are doing this through the continuous improvement of our infrastructure and the quality of nutritional, medical, and educational services provided to our children.
How We Started
- Started in 2000 by two women from Michigan and Ohio, who initially began by donating to an orphanage in Nairobi.
- Purchased vacant land for the current orphanage and school, Hope Center for Children, in 2004.
- Incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit in2008.
Our Budget
Our budget for 2025 is $201,500, the vast majority of which is paid for by individual donors. 97% of all donations go directly to the orphanage and school to cover the costs of operations, as well as tuition and room and board for our vocational and high school students.

- 16 acres of land, including 6 acres of farmland
- Three classroom buildings; one includes science and computer labs, teachers’ lounge, and administrative offices
- Girls’ and boys’ dormitories

- Outbuildings for goats, rabbits, equipment

- House for infirmary, sewing, and conference room

Hearth to Hearth is a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. It is an all-volunteer organization and 97% of funds donated go directly to support the programs.
