Providing support so children
Hope for Children Center
Hope for Children Center is located in Kenya near Lake Victoria and is home to 136 children. Our campus has everything needed to help the children succeed: preschool and primary schools, a farm with animals and produce, dormitories, an athletic field, dormitories and clean water.
Maranatha Children’s Center
Maranatha Children’s Center is located in Masaka, Uganda and is home to 26 children. The children attend local government schools that are within walking distance. Many of the boys and girls are on school soccer teams and most enjoy music.
The Widows Co-op near Hope for Children Center is made up of 25 widows ranging in age from 35 to 85, each caring for their orphaned children, grandchildren, great grandchildren or community children. The co-op provides income as well as invaluable emotional support to its members. The business of the co-op is renting tents and chairs for funerals, weddings and special events. Their next goal is to add catering to their business. The income they earn enables them to send the children in their care to school.
St. Viane’s Medical Clinic
Located in one of the poorest slums of Masaka, St. Viane’s Medical Clinic, was founded in 2015 by Derick Nabulumbi, an alumni of Maranatha Children’s Home. After completing nursing school, Derick opened the clinic to fulfill his dream of giving back to the community. The clinic provides HIV testing, de-worming for children, general medical treatment and medications. People pay what they can afford and no one is turned away. The clinic is very small with only occasional running water. The goal is to improve and expand the facility and the services provided to address more of the great need for health care services in this area.
